Cr Bill Stewart has a strong commitment to conservation to improve our community with the following examples.

Support the preservation and upkeep of our extensive ‘A’ Class bushland reserves in Star Swamp & Trigg Bushland with one of the most extensive tree canopies in metropolitan Perth and through Council ensuring the ongoing ‘conservation zoning’ of these extensive natural reserves is retained.
As an active member of West Coastcare Cr Bill Stewart has played a key role in ‘Dune Conservation’ via community planting days in partnership with local residents to preserve and restore the bio diversity of our dunes.
The above centre was the result of a funding partnership. It is a ‘sustainable building’ located within Star Swamp with its key role being environmental education. Cr Bill Stewart chaired the committee involving stakeholders from numerous interest groups that saw this complex come to reality.
