Commit to the agreed funding obligations and measures to implement and deliver the $57 Million capital works program that includes four precincts which will provide facilities, services and public spaces with the aim of creating WA’s premier beach area.
Support the new Surfing WA proposed building plans that is proposed to re-locate to a new low rise facility at South Trigg. Improve the overall presentation of West Coast Drive south of Clarko Reserve with no intrusion into the Trigg Bushland ‘A’ Class Reserve or changes to traffic flow.
Implementation of the announcement by the City of Stirling for the 50-metre saltwater heated ‘Coastal Pool’ located at Scarborough to be completed by late 2017 at an approximate cost of $26 million.
Additional clubroom upgrades relating to internal toilets, new disabled toilet, main hall upgrade plus improved interface between the main hall and the outdoor alfresco area.
Council is required to make a submission to the State Underground Power Program (SUPP) for determination by the WA State Government – notice has already been given in 2015 for Council consideration for any future scheme within the Coastal Ward which I will support through Council.
Continue the implementation of the funding to clean up our rear laneways – approximately 60% sealed by 2017/18.
Implementation of measures to protect public infrastructure such as underground sewerage facilities, West Coast Drive, coastal shared path, toilet blocks, beach access, extensive replanting of native coastal vegetation to stabilise the dune structure and private homes from the potential impact of beach erosion. In addition support long term measures via State Government approval processes to provide certainty as a means to replace short term solutions.
In consultation with the community supporting retention of disabled access to Mettams Pool adjoining the toilet facility both immediately north and south in addition to new works on West Coast Drive to improve pedestrian movement and the installation of measures to slow down speeding cyclists.
Retention of key community facilities such as the Karrinyup Kindy site which will be used as a child care facility. In addition ongoing upkeep of assets, improvements to playgrounds/parks/reserves and support to families/seniors to key community facilities to improve our way of life.
Investigate options to improve the Karrinyup Library which is recognised as one of West Australia’s highest customer public library services.
Providing onsite repair facilities for cyclists at key coastal locations.
Upgrades to the existing building.
